Birthday Card

My mother in law's birthday was yesterday.  It snuck up on me and I didn't have a card made so this is what I whipped up.  I think it turned out very well.  Let me know what you think.   I used the Everything Elenor set which is currently my favorite.  And I have not used Rose Red and Pretty in Pink together but I love them together!

Here is a card I did for a wow swap, I used Language of Friendship stamp set, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, and Rose Red card stock, and Floral District DSP.  I did end up using blender pens and coloring the bird with Baja Breeze Classic Ink but didn't do that until after I took this picture.  I will be way busy for the first two weeks of July so I won't be posting for awhile.  I hope you all have an awesome 4th of July!
I will post my class schedule around the 7th so look for that!

Welcome to the VC Rocks Blog Hop!
The blog hop runs Saturday the 16th  thru Sunday the 17th and I am number 22 on the blog hop!  If you are going in order, you have come from Stampin' at Dawn , if you get lost you can always go to the VCRocks home page and there you will find a complete list of blogs that are participating in this hop.
The theme is any size cards, so I did two different shaped cards and one standard size.

The first card I cased from someone that didn't put their name on their photo so I can't give credit to who did this but it's one of my favorites. This is card is called a middle-step card, the second picture lets you see it from the side.
I don't really have any masculine designer series paper so I had to used some retired.  The Card Base is Pacific Point card stock, I used retired Jersey Shore Designer Series Paper for the layer, I cut the top two layers with the Labels Collection Framelits and embossed the Whisper White layer with our new Argyle embossing folder.  I then inked up the Morning Post Alphabet stamp set in Pacific Point and stamped on Whisper White card stock then cut the letters out and used dimensionals to adhere them to my card.  I used the Decorative Label punch (I got the instructions on Patty Bennett's blog)  to make the little embellishments for the words best ever, which I had my husband hand write, he has better handwriting than I do.  I cut two 1 1/4" x 12" strips of the Jersey Shore DSP and used my Simply Scoring Score Tool and scored it every 1/2" then accordion folded them and adhere them end to end to make the lollies.

The next card I used the new Floral Frames Framelits to cut the card base from Tangerine Tango.  Then cut the layers out of Whisper White, Floral District Designers Series paper, Baja Breeze, and Daffodil Delight card stock.  I then put an antique brad for the center and topped it with Daffodil Delight 1/4" stitched Grosgrain ribbon.  No stamping required to make this card!  Which is very rare for me!

The final card is the standard size card.  The card base is Raspberry Ripple with a Chocolate Chip layer.  I stamped the bottom part of the flower in Raspberry Ripple, which came from the Reason to Smile stamp set, which is only $5 when you spend $50 worth of product in the month of June, then I inked up the top layer of the flower in Chocolate Chip.  The saying is from Blessing from Heaven stamp set and then I used the Word Window punch to punch out a piece of Chocolate Chip and added an In Color Dahlias to the end.  The butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri set.  Then finished it with 3/8" Stitched Raspberry Ripple Satin Ribbon.  I cased this card from somebody on Stampin Connection, I just changed the color scheme.

I really hope you liked all my projects! Please leave a comment and let me know what you think! I do try to update my blog at least every week so please come back and always let me know what you think!

Now off to stop #23 which is Something to Scrap about.  I hope you enjoy your hopping!  This is an amazing group of people and they do amazing work!

I will be having a class soon so stay close I will look at my calendar today and post the date!  I hope to see everyone soon!!

Welcome to the VC Rocks first blog hop of 2012!!  HAVE A HEART!! so every project will have at least one heart.  The blog hop starts tonight, Friday May 18th, at 10pm Central Standard time, I'm a little early due to graduation preparations, so if you go to the links and the projects are not posted yet, please come back!!  I promise you won't want to miss this blog hop, everyone is so very talented!!
There is a total of 29 stops and the list of all the blogs participating on the VC Rocks homepage .   My Stop is #4  on this blog hop.  You most likely came from Brenda's stamping corner didn't she do a great job?!
My first project is made using My Digital Studio, my daughter graduates high school tomorrow so it's a tribute to her.  I hope you like it!  I used Cherry cobbler for the base, Always, Cheep Talk, and Define your life stamp sets, Dotted Scalloped Ribbon and oval punches, I matted the picture in Island Indigo and the hearts are very vanilla.  I love MDS, stamps never retire there!!

The second is one of the cards I gave her for graduation.  It's a sneak peak of new products that will be available on June 1st.  I want to apologize for the picture, I can't find my camera and that's the best picture out of five.  I used Baja Breeze card stock for the card base, Floral District Designer Series paper, Layered Labels stamp and Tiny Tags stamp sets, I stamped congratulations in Baja Breeze on Whisper White card stock and used my Big Shot and the new Apothecary Accents Framelits, which I love and there are so many stamp sets that this coordinates with in the new catalog!!!  I stamped the heart in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White card stock and punched it out using the small heart punch and attached it to the Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon using Island Indigo Bakers Twine.

I hope you will leave a message telling me what you think!  Your next stop is Krafting with Karen, if you get lost just click on the link VC Rocks link and it will take you to the list of the blogs.
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you come back, also leave me the name of your blog, I would love to come see what you have done!

Ok, on the sidebar is a list of all the retiring products from Stampin' Up!  One thing I'm super excited about is we are getting new ink pads, they are foam based.  Here is what we are told about the new ink pads:

With the introduction of the 2012-2013 annual catalog, we have made a very big change to our Stampin' Pads.
Introducing. firm foam pads! They change your stamping experience for the better.
We know you're going to love these new Stampin' Pads-just look at all the exciting benefits listed below:
  • Provide better ink coverage for your stamps!
  • Light-tap stamping produces flawless images!
  • Pad stays juicier for longer resulting in better ink pad longevity!
In addition, our new Stampin' Pads
  • Have a crisply printed, glossy label on the top of the pad that is easier to read and that will not fade or chip off!
  • Come with color name labels in all four languages (English, Spanish, French, and German)-just choose your language, peel it off the back, and add it to the side of the pad for easy identification!
  • Use the same patented flip-top case design that stores the inking surface upside down, so the pad surface stays moist!
  • Are available in all colors, including our exclusive In Colors!

Please note: Five ink colors have undergone formula changes to improve functionality and color stability with the new firm foam pads. These colors are
  • Basic Black
  • Basic Gray
  • Marina Mist
  • Perfect Plum
  • Tempting Turquoise
All five colors of the reformulated inks have been fully tested and approved. While using the new ink formula in the old Stampin' Pads is fine, we do not recommend using the old ink formula in the new firm foam pads. Any refills purchased after April 30, 2012, will contain the new formulated ink.*

I can't wait to purchase these new ink pads!  The ones we sell now, at least mine do this, bow in the middle which makes it very hard to ink up a stamp!

Please call me if you have any questions!!!

Yesterday I posted the "boy" version, so today here is the "girl" version of my Easter card.  I'm not very good at water coloring so I just used my markers and colored the images.  And of course added Dazzling Diamonds to give it the sparkle every card, in my opinion, needs!  Please let me know what you think!  And again thank you Michelle at mgdesigns for the idea! My email is gwynecrawford@cox.net if you would like the recipe.

Thanks for looking,
Gwyn
